We will be present at the 2017 edition of the National Truffle Market Exhibition in Fabro to be held November 10-12, 2017. The national market exhibition of truffles and quality food products was founded in 1987 by the will of the then Mountain Community Monte Peglia and Selva di Meana (now Mountain Community Onat) to enhance and promote one of the most important gastronomic products present in the ‘area of the park STINA (Territorial System of Naturalistic Environmental Interest): the TRUFFLE.
It is traditionally held on the second weekend of November, in conjunction with the feast of St. Martin, Patron Saint of the city of Fabro.
Since 2010 it has been managed directly by the City of Fabro, which, each year surprises its visitors with new and ever-changing events. Since that distant 1987 as many as 29 editions have passed, between difficult years and years of extraordinary results.
The exhibition over time has evolved, expanded and has changed several locations until the 2009 edition, when by the will of the Municipal Administration and the Mountain Community Onat, the ‘entire event was moved to the historic center of Fabro, a charming and enchanted area, surmounted by the ‘imposing Torrione, remnant of the ancient castle of Fabro, from which you can enjoy a splendid 360 ° view of all the countries of the’ area of the Alto Orvietano.
In the context of the ancient village, visitors will have the opportunity to rediscover forgotten tastes: the ‘smell of roasted chestnuts, the scent of wine and the’ unmistakable aroma of truffles: aromas and flavors artfully mixed for an extraordinary weekend all ‘banner of good taste.
Today the exhibition has more than 15,000 visitors, more than 50 stands of local and national producers and more than 14 truffle dealers from all regions of Italy and is by now a regular event for lovers of genuine products and good food.
One of the treats not to be missed at the exhibition is the making of the
THE WORLD’S BIGGEST WHITETRUFFLE FRITTATA , which takes place on Saturday afternoon: a giant iron frying pan two and a half meters in diameter that contains inside more than 2,000 eggs and 30 kilograms of truffles from the Fabresi lands! It is an exciting and suspenseful moment that involves all Fabresi residents and associations, anxious to find out if the guinness has finally been achieved. We will see if in this year’s edition (2017) the record will be achieved..to find out you just have to come and see for yourself! for more information about the event visit the official website www.mostratartufofabro.com
